International desalination association is established to promote appropriate desalination technology worldwide. The organization promotes research and development in the field of desalination and disseminates the latest developments in the desalination technology to the member countries.
Activities of IDA
Activities of IDA includes:
- Publishing of periodicals on desalination and water reuse technology.
- Holding of regular congress with exhibitions every two years.
- Holding and sponsoring seminars and workshops in different parts of the world.
- Coordinates with regional and association affiliates. Regional Affiliate Members of IDA.
Incepted in 1972 American membrane technology association (AMTA) has come long way in promoting improvement of national water supplies through desalting, reuse and other water sciences The association promotes and advocates the application of membrane technology for creating safe and reliable water supplies and for treating municipal, industrial, agricultural and wastewaters. It also promotes the exchange of technical, operational and financial information regarding membrane technology among individuals and organizations.
Australasian Desalination Association (ADA)
Australasian desalination association is established with an objective to promote best use of desalination technology for water reuse, water purification, disposal of brine, control of water pollution and related technology in region including Australasia. The organization encourages research and development to develop appropriate technology for water reuse, water desalination etc and disseminate information about the latest research and techniques among the members. It also promotes training and certification programmes and promotes the efficient use of water.
European Desalination Society
European desalination society is organization of individuals, corporates, companies, research institutes, and other agencies and institution which are interested in desalination and membrane technologies for water. The activities of the society includes:
- Research
- Applications
- Consulting and contracting
- Operation and maintenance
- Manufacturing, marketing, economics, legislation.
- Promotes European business development in water desalination field.
- Exchange promotes and disseminates information Affiliate Members of International Desalination Association (IDA).
Indian Desalination Association (InDA) was established in 1991 in Chennai with the objective of promoting the use of desalination and desalination technologies nation wide. The association promotes desalination technologies in water supply, water reuse, water purification, water treatment and other issues related to water sciences and technologies.
The strength of InDA is growing impressively. So far, since its inception its membership has grown to 150 life members and 15 corporate members. The activities of InDA includes: Organizing seminar/conference every year on desalination and water reuse, disposal of wastes etc.
Pakistan Desalination Association (PakDA)
The Pakistan Desalination Association (PakDA) was incepted in 1994 to promote and develop appropriate desalination technology in Pakistan. The association comprises suppliers and manufacturers of the desalination equipments, engineers, research institution etc.
Water Sciences and Technology Association (WSTA)
Water Sciences and Technology Association (WSTA) was the outcome of an effort of group of individuals who were concerned with water affairs in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Countries. The association is registered under the Government of Bahrain in 1987. This association was the first association that deals with water science and technology in the Arabian Gulf region. It is a non profit organization all water professionals in the GCC countries, international organization, manufacturer, educational institutions are free to join it.
