Electrocoagulation often neutralizes charges of the particles or ions which allows precipitation of contaminants and replaces the use of expensive chemical agents. These reactions can be explained as follows:
- Within the electrocoagulation chamber, oxidation and reduction reactions are forced to their natural end point thereby speeding up the natural process of nature.
- pH that is induced by electrocoagulation chamber is swing towards alkalinity
- The presence of electron in the water prevents the polar effect of the water complex which allows the colloidal materials to precipitate. The osmotic pressure that is created by the electron presence results in the destruction of bacteria, viruses and cysts.
- Water is separated from pesticides, herbicides, chlorinated PCB's by the action of halogens.
- Oxygen ions used for bleaching oxidizes dyes, cyanides, bacteria, viruses, bio hazards etc.
- The emulsion breaking results in the separation of water from oil, drillers mud, dyes, inks etc.
